The eminent wine critic James Suckling, who after 29 years with Wine Spectator launched JamesSuckling.com, recently reviewed our 2008 Ashlow and awarded it a score of 91 points. James noted,
"Generous and fruity yet subtle and refined with berry and mineral character and a silky finish. Very nice indeed. Drink in 2013."
We are very pleased to receive such positive feedback from one of the world's most influential wine critics.

JuneRay recently donated bottles of Ashlow 2008 to the charity auction at the Red Carpet Ball for the YWCA of Darien/Norwalk (CT). The bottles helped raise money for a great cause, and we received great feedback from the happy auction winners. JuneRay enthusiastically supports the YWCA's mission of eliminating racism and empowering women. Click here to read more about the YWCA's cause.

We are pleased to announce that our 2008 vintage of Ashlow was bottled today! We are absolutely delighted by this wine's continued evolution. Our consulting winemaker Kian Tavakoli, who brings a wealth of experience and passion, checked on the wine just before it was bottled and provided the following tasting notes.
- Deep, dark red color with a lovely garnet hue.
- On the nose, the wine is dense, showing layers of ripe blackberry and
blackcurrant notes integrated with toasty oak notes that are refined.
- A solid wine, it is full bodied, mirroring the ripe fruit aromas on the
nose with lush, fleshy fruit flavors that carry through the midpalate,
finishing with firm and polished tannins that prolong the length.
We'll let you know the exact release date as soon as it has been finalized, but it looks like we should start shipping it in January 2011.

This past weekend, the JuneRay team completed blending trials, conducted by our esteemed consulting winemaker Kian Tavakoli, for our 2008 vintage of Ashlow, and the exercise was an utter success. Based on our prior barrel samples, we were already extremely excited about the way that our 2008 cabernet sauvignon has been progressing, but we’re now even more enthusiastic after identifying a blend that truly brings out its best.
The 2008 Ashlow will consist of 89% cabernet sauvignon, 8% merlot, and 3% cabernet franc. The blend’s stunning nose creates high expectations, and the complex flavor exceeds them!
We’re planning to bottle in the middle of 2010 and then release the wine in early 2011. For those of you who have been eagerly anticipating this debut vintage for two years already, that may sound like a long way out. However, based on what we tasted this weekend, we can assure you that it will be worth the wait!
